Performance

Vigil is a performance by Rebecca Belmore set on a street corner in Vancouver, British Columbia. Belmore utilizes a combination of symbolic storytelling alongside religious and cultural signifiers to commemorate the lives of missing Indigenous women who were abducted from that area. A memorial acknowledging the trauma experienced by the loved ones of the missing women is created during the performance.
